Beating Drought Water Restrictions
As drought hits the area and water restrictions are increasingly…well, restrictive you’re sure to find it increasingly difficult to keep the grass alive. Not only that it might become increasingly difficult to justify trying to keep it alive. After all, water is a precious resource and as it becomes more scarce it’s hard to find reasons why it’s okay to tip it all into the lawn, only to see the lawn continue to struggle.
Okay, so the option of landscaping synthetic grass could very well prove to be getting increasingly attractive. Some local governments are even providing incentives to install synthetic grass with government rebates available. It would be a good idea to check in your local area to find out what is available to you.
Water restrictions is only one reason why synthetic gras might be an attractive option. The lower maintenance requirements, i.e. no mowing, weeding, cutting edges, aerating, filling in or worn patches, might appeal just as much. Who wants to spent a good proportion of their weekend in the hot sun tending to their lawn?
Sure, the up front cost of synthetic grass may seem pricey when compared to laying grass sod or sowing grass seed. But long-term, the cost is recouped not only through no lawnmowing costs, no watering and no pesticides but also in a more valuable resource – your time.
